Vine Street (between Walton Street and Quality Street Arcade), Walton Street (between Robert Street and Cameron Street) and Rust Avenue (between Bank Street and Whangarei Intermediate entrance) in central Whangārei will be closed for nighttime road resurfacing works as part of scheduled road maintenance.
Period of closure: Sunday 10 and Monday 11 May 2026, 7:00pm to 5:00am (night works only)
Side roads and intersections on surrounding streets may also be impacted.
There will be stop / go traffic control where full road closures are not required and temporary 30km/h speed limits.
Please follow the signposted detours during the closures.
Resident access will be maintained where practicable, with traffic controllers available to assist.
Some traffic management may remain in place while new road surfaces cure.
