Any person may request information from Council, under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).
Once a request for information is made, Council must supply the information unless reason exists for withholding it.
Council must answer requests within 20 working days (although there may be certain circumstances where this time frame may be extended).
The Act allows Council to charge for official information. These charges are contained in Councils Schedule of Fees and Charges.
