Pay a litter infringement

Litter infringements must be paid in full (we can't accept part payments) within 28 days of issue of the infringement.

There are several ways to pay a litter infringement. 

  • Online: pay online with your credit or debit card
  • In person: come into one of our customer service centres with cash, credit or debit card
  • Internet banking: pay via internet banking.

Online

Step 1.Have your card ready

You can pay using a credit or debit card (Visa and Mastercard only). No fees or surcharges apply for online credit card payments.

Step 2.You'll need your notice number

The number appears at the top of your infringement notice.

Step 3.Pay online

Click "Pay now" to be redirected to our secure online payments website.

By using our payment website, you agree to our Online Service Terms and Conditions.

Pay now 

On the payments website:

  1. Enter the Notice number into the payment code field
  2. Click the magnifying glass icon or press Enter. Your infringement and the fee will appear
  3. To add another infringement, repeat the step with the next Notice number
  4. Continue until all infringements are added
  5. Click Next
  6. Enter your email address to receive a receipt
  7. Enter your card details to complete the payment.

You'll receive a payment receipt by email once the transaction is complete.

In-person

Step 1.Gather infringement notice

You will need to bring your infringement notice in with you.

Step 2.Visit us

Come into one of our Customer Service Centres to pay by cash, Eftpos, Visa or Mastercard.

Step 3.Issue receipt

A receipt can be issued upon request.

Internet banking

Step 1.Gather infringement notice

Make sure you have your infringement notice ready as you will need the notice number.

Step 2.Visit your online bank

You can pay your infringement using your internet banking.

Step 3.Enter payment options

We are listed as a bill payee with your bank.

  • Search for "Whangarei District" in your bank's payee list
  • Select "Whangarei District Council - Other"
  • Pay the amount listed on the infringement notice.
