Safely dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste at our free amnesty day.
Hazardous chemicals don’t belong in household rubbish! They’re bad for the environment, dangerous for people, pets and wildlife, and they can even start fires.
Our Household Hazardous Waste Amnesty Day gives households a safe way to dispose of them properly and keep harmful chemicals out of landfill.
Bring your household hazardous waste to us free of charge from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday 30 May, and we’ll make sure you and our environment stay safe.
Please bring household-sized quantities only – to a maximum of 20L / 20kg per household, in containers at a maximum size of 10L / 10kg.
This is staff assisted with drive-through drop-off. Please stay in your vehicle – trained staff will unload items from your boot.
- Household waste only (no commercial waste)
- Maximum amount: 20L / 20kg per household
- Maximum container size: 10L / 10kg
We WILL accept:
- household cleaners – oven cleaners, bleaches, cleaning chemical etc
- oil, vehicle additives, brake fluids, antifreeze
- paint, paint strippers, solvents, varnishes
- pool cleaners / chlorine
- pesticides (fertiliser, herbicides, fungicides, all garden poisons)
- aerosols
- acids
- alkaline cleaners, drain cleaner.
We WON'T accept:
- commercial / construction waste
- asbestos
- medical waste / syringes
- radioactive
- laboratory chemicals
- mercury.
