Fresh off meeting France in the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup bronze final, the Black Ferns will welcome the French side back to Aotearoa New Zealand for a blockbuster three-test home series in 2026, as part of the new WXV Global Series.

Following on from the success of the Women’s Rugby World Cup and July’s Black Ferns match, Semenoff Stadium is incredibly excited to welcome the Black Ferns home to Whangārei and our Te Tai Tokerau Northland community for an epic test match against France on Saturday 24 October 2026.

Gates open at 1:00pm, with kick-off at 3:05pm.

We can’t wait for Northland to get behind this test match and show up to support our team!

Hātea walkway swing bridge temporarily closed

The Hātea walkway swing bridge on the walking trail from A H Reed Memorial Kauri Park to Whangārei Falls is closed following a failed safety inspection. We are working with specialist engineers and contractors to replace the bridge structure to ensure necessary stabilisation and safety improvements.

Kotuitui Whitinga footbridge marine closure

Kotuitui Whitinga bridge will be closed to marine traffic from 9:00am to 3:30pm on Sunday 2 August 2026 due to a Northpower power outage.

Pedestrians can cross the bridge as usual. Te Matau a Pohe bridge operations are not affected by the outage.

Skippers are encouraged to contact Bridge Control for updates prior to setting off. We appreciate your patience while Northpower undertakes this work.
