Planning is progressing with a strong focus on clear communication and thoughtful delivery in response to the high level of community interest.

The carpark upgrade will deliver clear benefits for our District.

The existing carpark is currently an unsealed gravel area with no marked parking spaces and no accessible parking provided to current standards.

The informal layout has also led to issues such as inappropriate vehicle use and vandalism.

By sealing and formalising the carpark, the project will improve safety, accessibility, and site resilience, while creating a more welcoming and functional space for everyone who uses the Mangakahia Sports Complex.
