The Community Association Fund supports resident and ratepayer groups, citizen associations and marae trusts recognised by Whangarei District Council that advocate for and uplift their local community.
The Grant is $750 annually for administration costs to support your community mahi. This can include meeting / hui costs, communications / pānui, or honorarium / koha for an administrator.
Applications can be made any time while the fund is open, and outcomes will be advised within 21 days of your application being received.
This fund will be open from 1 October 2026 to 30 April 2027.
Criteria
Eligible applicants are community organisations that:
- are a resident and ratepayer group, citizen association or marae trust
- have the primary purpose as stated in their constitution or trust deed to support and advocate for their local community
- are either place-based or hapū-based within the Whangārei District
- demonstrate that they are actively engaged with the community, and
- are recognised by your community and by Council as representing your people's voice.
