Food Businesses Grading Bylaw review

Feedback closed at 5:00pm on Monday 6 April 2026

A person is cleaning a commercial kitchen with a spray bottle.

We asked for your feedback on proposed amendments to our Food Businesses Grading Bylaw. We are required to review our bylaws at least every 10 years.

The bylaw incentivises high food-safety standards and supports public understanding by requiring certain food businesses to display a food-grading information certificate in the Whangārei District.

Before making any final decisions, we asked for your views, which will help ensure the proposed amendments best suit our community’s needs.
