Northland Car Club proposed road closures

Pursuant to Schedule 10, clause 11(d) of the Local Government Act 1974, notice is given that for the purpose of the Northland Car Club Motorsport Event Series (May to July 2026), organised by Northland Car Club Inc, Whangarei District Council will, at its meeting on 26 March 2026, consider the proposal to close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic:

Where: Paiawa Road – from Mititai Road to the end of Paiawa Road.

• Period of closure: Sunday 3 May 2026, 8:00am to 5:00pm. 

Where: Waiwarawara Drive – from Theodore Drive to Casey Road (includes the Casey Road / Waiwarawara Drive roundabout and Theodore Drive / Waiwarawara Drive roundabout).

• Period of closure: Sunday 17 May 2026, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Where: Roosevelt Road – from Theodore Drive to Waiwarawara Drive. 

• Period of closure: Sunday 17 May 2026, 8:00am to 5:00pm. 

Where: Ruarangi Road – from 200m from the intersection of Ruarangi Road and Paparoa Road to 200m from the intersection of Ruarangi Road and Mangapai Road. 

• Period of closure: Sunday 7 June 2026, 8:00am to 5:00pm.  

Where: Rosythe Road – from 400m from the intersection of SH1 to 3km from the intersection of SH1.

• Period of closure: Sunday 28 June 2026, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Where: Springfield Road – from 7.5km from the intersection of SH1 to the intersection of Springfield Road and Kukunui Road.  

• Period of closure: Sunday 12 July 2026, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

During the proposed periods of closure, the following provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the roads: Emergency services may use the closed roads, and residents may use the closed roads by arrangement with the organiser:
