Kauika Road temporary road closure

Event date: Wednesday, 08 April 2026 | 10:00 AM to Friday, 24 April 2026 | 02:00 PM

There will a road closure on Kauika Road, between Maunu Road and First Avenue, due to strengthening work required on the bridge. 

Period of closure: Monday 23 March, 6:00am to Friday 24 April, 2:00pm.

Please follow the detour (as shown below via Maunu Road, Central Avenue and First Avenue) and instructions from traffic management staff. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained across bridge at all times.

This work is essential to ensure the integrity of Whangarei District Council infrastructure.
