Dave Culham Drive temporary road closure

Dave Culham Drive will be temporarily closed for maintenance required on Te Matau a Pohe bridge.

Period of closure: Friday 20 March 2026, 7:00pm to Saturday 21 March 2026, 2:00am.

During this time, motorists will need to use alternative routes.

Traffic management and detour signage will be in place throughout the closure period.

Pedestrians will be able to use the bridge.

There will still be access to both the Whangārei Dog Park and Bike Park via Riverside Drive.

Hātea walkway swing bridge temporarily closed

The Hātea walkway swing bridge on the walking trail from A H Reed Memorial Kauri Park to Whangārei Falls is closed following a failed safety inspection. We are working with specialist engineers and contractors to replace the bridge structure to ensure necessary stabilisation and safety improvements.

Rates rebate widened

Homeowners can check their eligibility and apply for the 2025-26 rates rebate below. If you received a rebate last year, we have sent you a form for 2025-26, which you should have received by the end of July 2025.
