Rates rebate widened
Changes to the thresholds mean some ratepayers who weren't eligible for a rates rebate in 2024-25 might be eligible in 2025-26. Homeowners can check their eligibility and apply for the 2025-26 rates rebate below. If you received a rebate last year, we have sent you a form for 2025-26, which you should have received by the end of July 2025.

FREE rooftop parking in the city centre
The rooftop of the Central City Carpark Building (vehicle access from John Street) has FREE parking for up to three hours until New Year's Eve, Wednesday 31 December 2025. The building has easy access to the central city, local shopping, entertainment and the Town Basin.

The closedown period for LIM applications is from 20 December 2025 to 10 January 2026. Any LIM application received during this time will be deemed as received on 11 January 2026. The last date to apply and pay to receive your LIM before Christmas will be Friday 5 December 2025.

Te Iwitahi and Ruakākā Service Centre will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period from 2:00pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 (Christmas Eve). Te Iwitahi will reopen at 8:00am and Ruakākā Service Centre will reopen at 8:30am on Monday 5 January 2026.
