Northland Edible Garden Trail

Te Ara Māra Kai o Tai Tokerau - Northland Edible Garden Trail will have events on throughout February 2026. This will be the 5th year that this annual event has run.

The Northland Edible Garden Trail features inspirational properties that will be open for the public to meet the people involved, have a chat, look, learn, and be inspired to live and grow in a sustainable way.

The trail features small urban gardens, food forests, rural lifestyle blocks, community gardens, marae, commercial growers and regenerative agriculture.

The Whangarei open gardens will be open over the weekend of 28 February to 1 March 2026.

Rates rebate widened

Changes to the thresholds mean some ratepayers who weren't eligible for a rates rebate in 2024-25 might be eligible in 2025-26. Homeowners can check their eligibility and apply for the 2025-26 rates rebate below. If you received a rebate last year, we have sent you a form for 2025-26, which you should have received by the end of July 2025.
