On Sunday 28 September 2025 at 10:00am, Northland’s outdoor tsunami sirens will be tested.
They will sound for around two minutes with the familiar siren tone followed by a voice message: "Test only, test only. This is a test of the Northland tsunami siren network; no action is required."
The tsunami sirens are tested twice a year, coinciding with the start and end of daylight saving.
