Map showing area of the seawall project on Aubrey Road, North Pātaua.

This project aims to prevent erosion, which is threatening the road shoulder of Aubrey Road in North Pātaua, and to provide a footpath that is separate from the road.

The footpath will extend from the end of the existing timber walkway coming off the pedestrian bridge to the North Pātaua boat ramp.

It includes a rock revetment wall for bank stabilisation, and a 1.5m concrete footpath with bridging elements where the footpath needs to navigate the roots of the adjacent pōhutukawa trees.

The existing stairs down to the beach will be reused and reinstated when the seawall work is complete.

We are intending to obtain quotes from the market in the first half of 2026 and complete construction works before the end of the year.
