Almost 6 years as your Ward Councillor. It is my wish to continue in that role. Jo and I reside outside the ward, and have been a Team for 25+ years. Wins this term include 50 KMH speed limit through Maungatapere, public conveniences there and Pipiwai new and improved road contracts, delivering better results district wide. Focus next term, our ward deserves more investment. We need upgrades for sports facilities, more parkland, museum and heritage park funding, cemetery expansion. We will have a fluoride free tap in Maungatapere soon. Other work includes assured future drinking water supply. Storm and wastewater improvements. Future airport designation. How to ease traffic congestion and implement that plan. I have the dedication and time. You, the voter, hold the key and the power to implement that. Your vote. Give me your power and confidence. Candidate statement:
Kia Ora, I'm Tim Robinson. My wife Sandy and I reside in Maunu, and proudly own Bernina Northland, a vibrant retail and community hub in Whangārei's CBD. We've raised three sons here and are deeply committed to the district. I bring over 30 years' experience in the ICT sector, business ownership, and governance roles. I've served for two decades on the Chamber of Commerce Board, including as President, helping guide strategic initiatives that support local business. As former Chair of the WBHS Board of Trustees, I led a period of strong growth in achievement and oversaw a $50M school rebuild. I'm a passionate Northlander who believes council's role is to enable success across our communities - supporting residents, businesses, and local organisations alike. I will be a strong voice for the Mangakahia-Maungatapere Ward and will work to ensure the Whangarei District Council delivers real outcomes for our region's future.
