On the King's Birthday public holiday (Monday 1 June 2026), kerbside rubbish and recycling collections will be carried out and the rubbish and recycling stations are operating as usual.
Pole replacement work is taking place between February and April 2026. The works include fencing-off sections of the playground to safely remove and replace wooden poles in the playground. Please take care during this time, and keep children away from fenced-off areas.
Enjoy an all-ages adventure on this large playground, which features climbing structures, slides, a sandpit, many swings, a flying fox and plenty of space to run around.
Free parking is available at the 272-space Pohe Island carpark, off Riverside Drive.
Destination Playground can also be accessed from the Hātea Loop walkway.
