Kamo Road temporary road closure

Whangarei District Council and Ventia will be carrying out essential resurfacing works on Kamo Road between Whau Valley Road and Adams Place. Kamo Road will be temporarily closed through the work area during construction.

Period of closure (night works):

Monday 26 to Thursday 29 October 2026, 7:00pm to 5:00am each night (finish at 5:00am on Friday 30 October)
Monday 2 to Wednesday 4 November 2026, 7:00pm to 5:00am each night (finish at 5:00am on Thursday 5 November).

All works are weather dependent and may be rescheduled if required.

Why are we doing this?

These works involve removing the existing road surface and laying new asphalt to improve driving conditions and road safety, maintain the road network, reduce future maintenance requirements and improve the long-term performance of the road.

What to expect

Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow all temporary traffic management signage. Please plan your journey ahead of time and follow the signed detour route, which will be clearly signposted.

Residents will retain access where practicable under the direction of traffic management staff, who will be available to assist residents and emergency services as required.

Some construction noise is expected while milling and paving activities are underway.
