From 1 February 2024, you need to put your lids, caps, bottle-tops and spray cans into your rubbish bag or wheelie bin, when new government recycling rules come in.
Raurimu Avenue in Onerahi is receiving safety upgrades as part of our Slow Streets programme.
The programme is designed to reduce the speed of cars in urban streets to make them safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
The work includes traffic calming and improvements to the school Kea crossing to help get kids to school and home safely.
We received a petition signed by more than 220 residents and parents of students at Raurimu Primary School.
We shared proposed designs with the local residents and school community in 2022. These designs were evaluated and revised to incorporate valuable feedback and suggestions from the community.
Works started in September 2023. Remaining work is due to be completed by May 2024.
There will be traffic management in place with some minor detours when the works are taking place. Parking will be restricted in several areas to allow two-way traffic flow.
