A fresh approach to working with community groups
Published on 25 June 2025
We’re seeking expressions of interest from communities of place, interest and identity to partner with us through our new Community Impact Partnerships programme.
Community Development Manager Jacki Cooper says the new programme brings a fresh approach to working with community groups.
“Previously, our work in this area focused on communities around geographic locations. This new approach gives us more flexibility to work with a wider range of groups that may be based on place, identity or interest.”
She says the programme is designed to establish partnerships between Council and groups to create positive long-lasting impact for the wider community.
“We can help groups improve their structure, tackle a project and prepare for future partnerships and funding opportunities. By partnering with us, you’ll gain access to expert guidance, helpful resources, and some funding to keep the process moving as we work together to grow the impact of your kaupapa.”
If you'd like to find out more, get in touch with one of our Community Development Advisers to talk through what you’re wanting to achieve. Then submit an expression of interest that gives an overview of your group, vision, key goals and aspirations. This can be submitted in the format of your choice – using our online form, a video, audio recording or graphic.
