Whangarei Heads Road roadworks

There will be works along Whangarei Heads Road in Parua Bay from Monday 7 April until approximately Friday 27 June 2025 to replace the watermain, which is located under the carriageway. 

Due to the tight site constraints, ensuring safety for road users and workers, along with a desire to have the works completed as soon as possible, sections of Whangarei Heads Road (marked in blue on the map below) may be reduced to a single lane.   

Any sections of the road reduced to a single lane will be controlled by manual traffic control or portable traffic signals 24 / 7.
