Whangārei Santa Parade proposed road closures

Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is given that the Whangarei District Council, for the purpose of the Whangārei Santa Parade 2025, organised by the Whangārei Santa Parade Committee, proposes to close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic:

Where: Hunt Street, from Vinery Lane / Hunt Street intersection to Hunt Street / Bank Street intersection.

• Period of closure: 7:30am to 12:00pm noon, Saturday 29 November 2025. 

Where: Bank Street, from Dent Street roundabout down to Water Street / Vine Street intersection (including Hunt Street and Bank Street / Rust Avenue / Cameron Street intersections).

• Period of closure: 10:45am to 11:30am, Saturday 29 November 2025.

Where: Cameron Street West, from Bank Street intersection to Cameron Street Mall.

• Period of closure: 10:00am to 12:00pm noon, Saturday 29 November 2025.

Where: Rathbone Street, from Cameron Street West to Laurie Hall Lane (including Butter Factory Lane intersection).

• Period of closure: 10:00am to 1:00pm, Saturday 29 November 2025.

Where: Robert Street, from Rathbone Street / Robert Street intersection to Walton Street (includes Rathbone Street / Robert Street intersection, James Street / Robert Street roundabout and John Street / Robert Street roundabout).

• Period of closure: 10:00am to 1:00pm, Saturday 29 November 2025.

Where: John Street, from John Street Service Lane to Cameron Street East (includes John Street Service Lane).

• Period of closure: 10:00am to 2:00pm, Saturday 29 November 2025.

Where: Cameron Street East, from Walton Street to Cameron Street Mall.

• Period of closure: 7:30am to 2:00pm, Saturday 29 November 2025.

Where: James Street, from Cameron Street Mall to Dent Street.

• Period of closure: 7:30am to 2:00pm, Saturday 29 November 2025.

During the proposed periods of closure, the following provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic, which would otherwise use the roads:

• Emergency services may use the closed roads, and residents may use the closed roads by arrangement with the organiser:

It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised period to use the roads for ordinary vehicular traffic during the periods of closure.
