Okara Drive temporary road closure

Event date: Saturday, 05 July 2025 | 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM

Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is given that Whangarei District Council, for the purpose of the Māori All Blacks v Scotland and the Black Ferns v Black Ferns XV rugby events, organised by Northland Rugby Union and Semenoff Stadium, will close the following road to ordinary vehicular traffic: 

Okara Drive, from the roundabout at Okara Drive and Porowini Avenue to the roundabout at Okara Drive and Port Road. 

Period of closure: 9:00am to 7:00pm on Saturday 5 July 2025. 

During the period of closure, the following provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the road: Emergency services may use the closed road, and residents may use the closed road by arrangement with the organiser, Semenoff Stadium:

Any person objecting to the proposals is invited to lodge notice of their objections and grounds for them in writing with Whangārei District Council by Saturday 7 June 2025.

It will be an offence, under the above regulations, for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised period to use the roads for ordinary vehicular traffic during the periods of closure.
