Mair Street to Rurumoki Street stormwater renewal

Our contractor Fulton Hogan is delivering the Mair Street to Rurumoki Street stormwater pipeline renewal project.

Work will begin on Wednesday 13 August and will run through until early November 2025. 

The project includes locating existing underground services, upgrading the stormwater network, installation of manholes, and replacement of a potable watermain on Rurumoki Street.

Some initial investigation works (service locations) will be carried out from Wednesday 13 August, with the full scope of works requiring large machinery and pipe to begin around Monday 25 August.

Rurumoki Street will be under ‘residents only’ access from approximately Monday 25 August, for approximately three weeks. Mair Park access will remain available to pedestrians only.

Hatea Drive will be under construction from early September 2025 for three weeks, with the northbound lane closed with a detour via Mill Road. Residents on Hatea Drive who are directly affected will be contacted.  

Mair Street will be under ‘residents only’ access, with entry and exit from the Mill Road end only. This will take effect from mid-September 2025.

Throughout the project, there will be varying levels of traffic management, depending on the activities being carried out. Please look out for changes to the traffic layout and reduce your speed.

Please note there are five consecutive night works shifts planned, we will communicate these dates via letter/email closer to the time.
