Did you know you could get up to $830 off your rates bill?
Ratepayers who own their own home, which they were living in on 1 July, and have a low income, may be eligible for a government rates rebate on their rates bill.
The rates rebate process and eligibility requirements are managed by the Department of Internal Affairs.
We assess and approve rates rebate applications on their behalf.
Before applying
Before applying, check whether you may be eligible for other forms of assistance.
You may be eligible for the Accommodation Supplement, which can help with the costs of owning a home. You don't have to be on a benefit to get this payment.
