The No 1 football pitch and training area at Morningside Sports Park is receiving a complete overhaul with new irrigation, drainage and sand carpet surface.

The work is part of our Active Recreation and Sport Strategy, which aspires to meet the current and future sports facility needs in the District.

What to expect:

The northern area of the field will be closed throughout the works and until the new surface grows in. There will be site fencing around the pitch during this time.

Access to the school, No 2 football field and the playground area will be unaffected and will remain open to the public.

Rates rebate widened

Changes to the thresholds mean some ratepayers who weren't eligible for a rates rebate in 2024-25 might be eligible in 2025-26. Homeowners can check their eligibility and apply for the 2025-26 rates rebate below. If you received a rebate last year, we have sent you a form for 2025-26 which you should receive by the end of July.
