Alcohol licence public notices

The Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 requires all On, Off and Club Licence applications to be publicly notified. This applies to both new applications, and applications to renew an existing licence.

From 1 July 2021, we will be publishing all alcohol licence application public notices online which will be available to view for 15 working days after publication.

Objecting to an application

A person may object to the grant of a licence only if he or she has a greater interest in the application for the licence than the public generally.

An objection must be made in writing and filed with the District Licensing Committee within 15 working days after the first publication of the public notice.

No objection may be made in relation to a matter other than a matter specified in section 105.
