Kamo Road temporary road closure

Event date: Sunday, 18 January 2026 | 09:00 PM to 11:59 PM

We will be carrying out road maintenance on Kamo Road, requiring a road closure from the Kamo Road / Western Hills Drive (SH1) intersection to the Kamo Road / Whau Valley Road intersection.

Period of closure: Sunday 18 to Friday 23 January, and Monday 26 to Friday 30 January, 9:00pm to 5:00am (night works only).

The green area in the image below shows where the sealing work is occurring.

Please follow the signposted detours in place.

Northbound traffic will not be able to turn into Kamo Road – follow the detour on SH1 turning left into Great North Road. This includes southbound traffic on SH1, which will not be able to turn right into Kamo Road.

This will also impact residents / drivers north of the worksite on Whau Valley Road; they will be detoured north onto Fairway Drive, Braintree Street and Clark Road. 

All work is weather dependent.
