Current plan changes

Below are the links to any plan changes that are currently in progress.

Urban and Services Plan Change

To create new zones in Whangārei's urban area, three new Open Space Zones and new rules around transport, drinking water, stormwater and wastewater, earthworks, signs and lighting.

Plan Change 150: Marsden City Private Plan Change

The applicant's vision of the private plan change is to provide a viable and sustainable town centre in the Ruakākā / Marsden Point area which integrates with surrounding commercial, mixed use and residential uses.

Removal of Minimum Carparking Requirements

The National Policy Statement on Urban Development 2020 requires us to remove all criteria that require a minimum number of carparks, to be provided for a particular development, land use, or activity.

Hazards and Esplanade Plan Change package

Early engagement on the initial draft Natural Hazards, Hazardous Substances, and Esplanade Areas changes of the District Plan gave the public a chance to have their say on these plan changes before we finalise them and formally consult.
