From 15 June to 17 July 2026, join us in honouring the past, celebrating the present, and looking to the future through art, education, and connection.

Enjoy exhibitions, interactive activities, and a Matariki colouring competition for all ages - reflecting themes of whānau, unity, environment, and identity.

Come together, reflect, create, and celebrate the season of Matariki with us.

Pick up a colouring competition sheet at the Reyburn House Art Gallery during opening hours or at the Matariki Market!

Hātea walkway swing bridge temporarily closed

The Hātea walkway swing bridge on the walking trail from A H Reed Memorial Kauri Park to Whangārei Falls is closed following a failed safety inspection. We are working with specialist engineers and contractors to replace the bridge structure to ensure necessary stabilisation and safety improvements.

Rates rebate widened

Changes to the thresholds mean some ratepayers who weren't eligible for a rates rebate in 2024-25 might be eligible in 2025-26. Homeowners can check their eligibility and apply for the 2025-26 rates rebate below. If you received a rebate last year, we have sent you a form for 2025-26, which you should have received by the end of July 2025.
