The preliminary results for the 2025 local elections and Māori wards poll are now available.
The watermain that runs down Miraka Road in Ruakākā and onto SH1 was upgraded to ensure it met the requirements of Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s Code of Practice.
A 1.1km section of this piping fell short of the minimum flows and pressures required to provide fire-fighting coverage.
This project involved replacing the undersized piping with a larger pipe to ensure it met the code, starting on Miraka Road. The upgrade also improved water pressure for those connected in this area.
Works were mostly carried out in the road shoulder and had minimal impact on road users. We worked closely with Waka Kotahi to ensure as little disruption as possible.
