This project will improve pedestrian safety outside Whau Valley Primary School. 

It will provide traffic calming through engineering design at the road intersection of Moody Avenue and Weaver Street.

The intersection is outside Whau Valley Primary School, where 80% of the 300 schoolchildren exit. 

You can expect to see improvements providing for the safety of our most vulnerable road users, including:

  • a new roundabout constructed at the road intersection to slow motorists down and provide for safe turning of vehicles at school peak times
  • new footpaths, pedestrian crossing locations and footpath renewals
  • changes to kerb lines and some minor drainage improvements 
  • additional and improved signage and road markings.
