LGOIMA Policy

The Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) requires us to make available information that we hold when requested, unless withholding under reasonable grounds.

The purpose of our LGOIMA Policy is to:

  • ensure the availability of official information in a timely manner
  • provide operational clarity on the roles and responsibilities for responding to requests for official information within the business
  • prioritise public benefit, supporting an environment of openness and transparency that builds trust and confidence in the Council
  • provide guidance on reasonable charging requirements and conditions for LGOIMA requests.
