On Saturday 25 April 2026 (Anzac Day) and Monday 27 April 2026 (public holiday observed), kerbside rubbish and recycling collections will be carried out as usual and the rubbish and recycling stations are open.

Hātea walkway swing bridge temporarily closed
The Hātea walkway swing bridge on the walking trail from A H Reed Memorial Kauri Park to Whangārei Falls is closed following a failed safety inspection. We are working with specialist engineers and contractors to replace the bridge structure to ensure necessary stabilisation and safety improvements.

Rates rebate widened
Changes to the thresholds mean some ratepayers who weren't eligible for a rates rebate in 2024-25 might be eligible in 2025-26. Homeowners can check their eligibility and apply for the 2025-26 rates rebate below. If you received a rebate last year, we have sent you a form for 2025-26, which you should have received by the end of July 2025.
