Efficiency and Effectiveness Monitoring Reports (Section 35)

Section 35 of the Resource Management Act requires local authorities to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of their district plans and resource consents. 

This monitoring report evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of quarry buffer provisions in the Whangārei District Plan. 

Buffers around quarries are used to manage reverse sensitivity effects and reduce conflict between quarry operations and sensitive activities such as housing. 

This report contains an evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of quarry buffer areas in Whangārei District Plan and identifies potential improvements to the operative mapping approach.
