Mythical Creatures Summer Challenges

Collect Mythical Creature trading cards over the summer holidays by completing fun challenges.

The aim is to collect a full set of Mythical Creatures trading cards.

There are 2 sections :

• Children's - for ages 5 to 10 : collect up to 20 cards
• Tweens and Teens - for ages 10+: collect up to 10 cards

What you do

For each challenge you complete, you will earn a Mythical Creatures card.

Challenges can be completed multiple times, i.e. you may do multiple bush walks over the summer.

To collect a Mythical Creature card, visit any branch of Whangarei District Libraries and bring proof of having done a challenge to show a librarian, e.g.:
A photo (can be on a device)
Artwork or story
Reading log.

There is no need to register, download challenges or send in completed challenge sheets by a certain date.
Just pick a challenge to do and start having fun.

You can start collecting Mythical Creature cards on Monday 15 December 2025.
