My Monitor


My Monitor is an online facility for paying for library services and fines, computer reservations and web printing.

Create an account with My Monitor to:

  • Top up your library card or kiosk tickets for printing, photocopying and scanning services.
  • Reserve time on a computer at any of our library branches.
  • Upload and submit a print job from your own device to a printer at the library.
  • Pay your library charges and fines.

Getting started

Members of Whangarei District Libraries can use My Monitor by creating an account using their library card number and PIN.

Non library members can use My Monitor by:

  • Buying a ticket from a kiosk at any of our libraries
  • Setting up a Patron Ticket Account.


Library members

Step 1.Create a My Monitor account

Click on the button below to go to the My Monitor website

Step 2.Enter your library card number and PIN

Step 3.Tick to agree to the Terms and Conditions

Step 4.Log in to My Monitor

Each time you want to use My Monitor to top up your account or pay fines, log in with your library card number and PIN.

Buy a ticket

If you are not a member of Whangarei District Libraries, use My Monitor to pay for photocopy and print services.

Step 1.Buy a ticket

From the kiosks at any of our libraries

Step 2.Enter the Patron Ticket Number

To verify access to the photocopier or print from a computer, enter the number on the ticket.

Patron ticket account

If you are not a member of Whangarei District Libraries and regularly use our printing and photocopying services, create a Patron Ticket account.

You'll need to have a valid email address

Step 1.Go to My Monitor website

Go to my Monitor

Step 2.Click New Patron Ticket

  • Enter your name.
  • Enter your email address and retype it in the Confirm Email Address field.
  • Tick 'I agree to the Terms and Conditions for using My Monitor.'

Step 3.Click Create Account

Step 4.An account number is created

Your unique account number is displayed on the screen and emailed to you.

Step 5.Click Continue to set up a PIN

Enter a PIN and click Set new.

Step 6.Login to your account

  • On the My Monitor website, select Patron Ticket Number.
  • Enter your unique Patron Ticket Number then PIN.
  • Click Sign in.

Using My Monitor 

When you are logged in the home account page is displayed with your My Monitor account balance, recent library services activity and current library fines and charges.


From here you can:

  • Top Up your account.
  • Change your settings - change email address and PIN or specify if and when you want My Monitor account statements emailed to you.
  • View your activity log.
  • View statements.
  • Access the My Monitor help guide.

Top up My Monitor account

Payments are by credit card only.

To top up your account click on the green Add Value button and either select the amount you want to add or enter a dollar amount.

Click the Options button to set up email reminders to top the account up when the balance falls below a specified value.

To pay fines

Once you have topped up your My Monitor account click the red pay button, (which displays only when you do have fines owing), then tick the box or boxes next to the charges you wish to pay. 

My Monitor Account Help

You can submit print jobs from your internet-enabled device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone to the library printers. You can print from within the library or from home.

  • Log into My Monitor Web Print

  • Click the Change button to select paper size, colours and one or two-sided printing.

  • File print: Click Select file... to upload your documents - the maximum file size is 100 MB

  • Web Print: Enter the URL of the webpage or document you wish to print

  • Send Email Attachment: You will have to register your email address before emailing us.

Submit your email to

If there is an attachment on your email we will print that otherwise we will print the email.

Printing prices

  • A4 per page: black and white 10 cents; colour $1.00
  • A3 per page: black and white 20 cents; colour $2.00

You can reserve a public computer at any of our library branches online.

Whangārei Central Library

The public computers here are free to use with sessions of 15 minutes, 30 minutes or up to a maximum of 60 minutes.

  • Public PCs which have full Internet access.

  • E-Learning are set  for career information, CV preparation, homework and study purposes, school and home-school groups.

Branch libraries

The computers at Kamo, Onerahi and Tikipunga Libraries are all Public PCs and are free to use with a maximum session time of 30 minutes.

Reserve a computer

To reserve a computer log into My Monitor Computer Reservation service.

Click Manage Your Accounts & Reservations to change or delete your computer reservation dates and times.
