Using My List

Keeping the results of your library catalogue searches

Save and organise your search results with My Lists.

You can create and customise your lists as well as print and email them.

From My Lists, you can also place holds on items.

Add items to a list

Add items from either a search result or an item's details window by ticking the box next to the item (1).

Go to the Select and Action dropdown and select  Add to My Lists (2)

  • If you have logged in to My Account the Select a List window opens. Select which of your lists you want to save items to.
  • If you are not already logged into My Account, any items you add to My Lists will be sent to a Temporary List.

To open your lists

To access your temporary and saved lists, first log in, then click the My Lists link in the top blue banner.

Using your temporary List

To access your temporary list, log in to My Account and click the My Lists link in the top navigation area.

You can move items from your Temporary List into other lists, or save the entire list.

Use the Select an Action drop-down to: place a hold on the item, save it, delete, email, print, move it to another saved list or copy it to another saved list.

If you log out without saving the list, the Temporary List will be deleted.

If you are not logged in, the list of titles will be cleared after your session has expired (about 10 minutes with no activity in the browser).

You can log in after you have placed items in your Temporary List to move them to one of your saved lists.

Managing My Lists

Organising lists

To arrange your saved lists, do one of the following:

Use the Arrange By drop-down to arrange your lists:

  • alphabetically (ascending or descending) or
  • by the time they were created (most recent first or oldest first).

Adding and deleting lists

A window will open and prompt you to name your new list.
Enter the name and click Create to create the new list or Cancel to go back.

Catalogue-List-Delete.jpg  To delete lists, tick the boxes next to the lists you want to remove and then click the Delete Lists button.


Place holds

When you are ready to place holds on items in your lists, click the Place Hold button.

A window will appear for you to specify the library where you want to pick up the item when it is available.

Click Place Hold. A message will appear indicating if the hold was successfully placed or not.

You will see the item in My Account under the Holds tab.


Select an Action drop-down

First, select the items you want to do an action on, or use the Select All check box  to select all items on the page.
Then choose the action you want to take from the Select An Action menu.

  • Place Holds(s): To reserve an item.

    A window will appear for you to select the library where you want to pick up the item when it is available.
    Click Place Hold. A message will appear indicating if the hold was successfully placed or not.

  • Delete Selected: To remove items from a list.   
    A window will appear to confirm that you want to remove the item(s) from your list.
    Click Delete to remove the item(s) or Cancel to go back.
  • Email: To email item information.
    A window will appear to enter the email address where the item(s) information will be sent.
    Click Send email.
  • Print: To print an item's details
    A new window will appear in your browser with the item's title, author, call number and publishing information.
    Print using the method suitable for your device.
  • Move: To move items from one list to another.
    A window will appear for you to select which list you want to move the item(s) to.
    Click Move to move the item(s) or Cancel to go back.
  • Copy: To copy items from one list to another.
    A window will appear for you to select which list you want to copy the item(s) to.
    Click Copy to move the item(s) or Cancel to go back
