Archives New Zealand - Archway database
Archway is an index of government records in the context of their creation and use from 1840 to the present day. Archway contains descriptions of records that have been transferred from government agencies to Archives New Zealand's offices in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
Please note that Archway contains descriptive information only; it does not yet provide online access to the text of the records themselves.

Ancestry - New Zealand, Cemetery Records, 1800-2007
Transcriptions of headstones from New Zealand cemeteries which include details such as name, birth-date, death date, the cemetery name and plot location. They may also provide family relationships: name and other details about a spouse, cause of death, military dates, an epitaph, or a description of the headstone.
Ancestry is a subscription service but is free to access in the Genealogy Room at Whangārei Central Library.

Whangārei Cemetery Database Search
Details of interments in most of the Whangārei District cemeteries are on the Council website.
The cemeteries are: Hūkerenui, Kamo, Kaurihohore, Kioreroa, Marua, Maunu, Ngunguru, Onerahi, Pārua Bay, Waipū and Whareora.
The database is updated in the second week of the following month.
