Bill Edwards will talk about a collection of buttons discovered while working in the basement of Te Waimate Mission House in the mid-1970s. After being cleaned, the buttons revealed a fascinating insight into the military history of the Te Waimate area. In studying their context, these small everyday objects have big stories to tell us about the past.
