About Kyle Mewburn
Kyle Mewburn is one of New Zealand’s most eclectic and prolific writers. Her 50+ titles have been published in 27 countries and won numerous awards including New Zealand Children’s Book of the Year. Her work ranges from multi-layered picture books (Old Hu-hu, Kiss!Kiss! Yuck!Yuck! and Hill & Hole) to gross, laugh-out-loud junior fiction (Dragon Knight and Dinosaur Rescue series).
Kyle was the Children’s Writer in Residence at Otago University in 2011 and the President of the New Zealand Society of Authors from 2011 to 2017.
Originally from Brisbane, Kyle lives with her partner, a well-known potter, in a self-built house with a grass roof, located in Millers Flat, Central Otago. When not writing, Kyle is either in the garden singing to the vegies, in the creek swimming or off exploring the strange land discovered at the back of her wardrobe… (though that last bit may not be completely true).
