Buses will continue to depart from the bus stop outside the Hub at the Town Basin, but from 29 November 2021, all bookings will need to be done at Tarewa Park i-SITE or online.
Anyone wanting to book bus tickets for the 28 November 2021 services will either need to do it online or visit the Hub before Friday 26 November 2021.
Event tickets will also be moving to the i-SITE at Tarewa Park. The ticketing office is able to take bookings for Ticketek, Ticketmaster and Eventfinda events throughout New Zealand, over the counter. This service will no longer be available at Te Manawa / The Hub.
The decision to combine Hub’s visitor information services into the Tarewa i-SITE Visitor Centre follows changes to the tourism sector since COVID-19.
The visitor market has changed so much over the last two years that we are now in a good position to run just one main Visitor Information Centre in our District.
International tourist numbers have fallen with international border closures and domestic tourism has also slumped with this year’s regional border closures.
The Whangārei Art Museum will expand into the space previously occupied by the Hub Information Centre.
