Application to move gaming machines

Pub Charity Limited has applied to Whangarei District Council for permission to relocate its 18 gaming machines from its current site, the Tikipunga Tavern, 3 Wanaka Street, Tikipunga, Whangarei to its proposed new site at 62 Walton Street, Whangarei (the current Gengy’s Restaurant site), due to circumstances beyond their control.

Whangarei District Council’s Class 4 Gambling Venue Policy allows for such a relocation and provides the criteria and processes that needs to be followed.

The application fully complies and satisfies the Policy provisions, however in accordance with the Policy, the application must be publicly notified and submissions on this must be sought.

Copies of the submission forms will be available from 6 October 2021 in hardcopy and on this webpage. The hardcopy documents may be inspected at Forum North, Rust Avenue, Whangārei.

The submission form includes information on how interested parties can present their views to Council; in person, via a written submission or electronically.

Feedback may be provided between 9:00am on 6 October 2021 and 4:00pm on Thursday 4 November 2021.

Any person who wishes to present their views on the proposal to Council in person can do so. The date for speaking to Council is 16 November 2021. Council will get in touch with interested parties in due course.
