Safety protocols and closures are in place for Council facilities. Due to Covid-19 social distancing rules, the Council meeting on Thursday 23 September and extraordinary Council meeting (Three Waters) on Monday 27 September will be closed to the public. Instead the meetings will be livestreamed on our Council Facebook page: facebook.com/WhangareiDCFind out more about our safety protocols:
We aim to provide a balanced approach between the rights of people to keep animals, poultry and bees and the rights of the public to be free of annoyance or nuisance such as excessive noise, smell or health risks in our urban areas through our Animals Bylaw 2017.
Stock wandering onto public roads and road reserves is a serious safety issue. If you notice stock on the roads, please contact us.
If the animal belongs to a neighbour, let them know and resolve the problem with them.
If it can't be resolved, contact us for further assistance.
