About the plan

The Long Term Plan 2021-2031 is our key strategic planning document. It outlines our activities and priorities for the next ten years, and how we will pay for them.

The key areas where we are seeking feedback include:

  • climate change - which initiatives shall we fund?
  • rating options - how shall we pay for what we need?
  • revitalisation of our city centre - changes to James Street and John Street
  • funding for event facilities - where to allocate this budget?

The Long Term Plan also proposes a major boost to transportation funding over the 10 years of the plan.

We are holding 15 public meetings around the District to talk about the Long Term Plan. We are also holding a Family Fun Day at Pohe Island on 27 March with free family activities, as an interactive way to give your feedback.

These meetings will all feature the 2 documents below, which present the options we have to choose from.
