Placemaking plans

Creating great neighbourhoods of the future starts with great planning. We are currently working with our communities to develop Placemaking Plans.

We have adopted the Hikurangi Placemaking Plan and the Tikipunga Placemaking Plan. These plans inform how these areas will change, grow, and develop over the next 20 to 30 years.

These plans were created in collaboration with the community, tangata whenua and stakeholders. It will help guide our future planning, infrastructure work and projects in this area.

We conducted 2 rounds of engagement and asked community for their feedback on the draft placemaking plans for Waipū and Parua Bay:

Hikurangi Placemaking Plan

The Hikurangi Placemaking Plan was adopted in December 2021.
