The Horahora Rugby Club’s two fields will be resurfaced over the next year.

The Mill Rd/Nixon St and Kensington Ave/Kamo Rd intersection upgrades due for completion in 2016.
The airport upgrade is underway and includes an expansion to accommodate the larger aircraft now servicing the region.

Research is being done into the issue of poor drainage in the Waipu Cove area which has the potential to cause flooding risks in the area.
The Waitaua Awa Restoration Project's goal is to improve
the health of, and restore the Waitaua Awa (River).
The entrance to Whangarei’s most visited tourist spot, Otuihau, Whangarei Falls, is undergoing an upgrade this winter.
The Whangarei Harbour Water Quality Improvement Strategy.
Council is working on the development of a new $18.3 million water treatment plant on Whau Valley Road.
