Parking in Whangarei
Council owns and operates several carparks in the city.
Off street parking is available in the major retail shopping areas away from the city centre and in some local shopping areas.
In addition to the car parks, there are kerbside parking zones in the central city and in surrounding streets.

Saturday parking
The normal parking fees are charged for parking in the premium parking zones. The John Street Building and Laurie Hall carpark are also paid parkings between 9.00am and 2.00pm on Saturdays.
You are able to park outside these areas for free.
Motorcycle parking
There are free, dedicated parking spaces for motorcycles and scooters in the city centre. They are clearly marked.
