Summary

The purpose of the Stormwater Management Bylaw is to manage stormwater within the Whangarei District so as to protect people, property and the environment by minimising the impact of flooding, erosion and environmental pollution.

It covers connection to the stormwater system, the responsibility of property owners for maintenance of the system on private property and sets out the point of discharge.

Mis-use or prohibited activities are explained as is our role in monitoring the use of the District's stormwater system.
