2019 Proposed changes to the Speed Limits Bylaw 2005 (Introductory Section)

On 28 February 2019, Council approved the consultation process for the proposed amendments to the Speed Limits Bylaw 2005 (Introductory Sections).

The proposed update would make our Bylaw consistent with new legislation and other speed limit bylaws in Northland, without changing any current posted speed limits or the enforcement of speed limits.

The changes we have in mind would ensure that the Bylaw is consistent with the Land Transport Act 1998; in particular, the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017; and other speed limit bylaws operative in Northland.

Full detail on the proposed changes to the Speed Limits Bylaw (2005) Introductory Section can be downloaded by clicking on the following link.
